Phantom/manikin heads are used to simulate dental procedures for training and practice purposes before studying on the human subject. They typically feature a replica of the upper jaw (maxilla) and lower jaw (mandible) that can be manipulated and positioned to simulate a variety of dental procedures. This phantom is rare to find. Cast in aluminum in the 30s and still currently used in dental classrooms (newer versions made of silicone).
