Rare fireman helmet "smoke helmut" made in 1878 from Siebe Gorman & Co
This would be worn from one operator to receive fresh air pumped from another operator that was at a safe distance. The operation would take place in places without oxygen in places like mines / fires / etc.
The front side is a visor composed of two opening glass windows. The rear made of leather. The sides have air inlets and the cap is the exhaust valve.
